Today, we are announcing the soft launch of the US AI Council, a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing accountable artificial intelligence across industry, government, and research.

Our mission is clear:
To help organizations build, deploy, and govern AI systems in ways that are transparent, trustworthy, safe, and aligned with the public good.

We are developing an Accountable AI Certification Framework that offers organizations a practical, credible way to validate their AI practices. The framework will include three levels of certification; Silver, Gold, and Platinum - reflecting increasing rigor in trustworthy AI practices.

While our full certification platform is planned to launch in 2026, today marks the beginning of our work with partners, practitioners, and leaders who understand that accountable AI is not just a regulatory concern. It is a leadership commitment.

We recognize that many organizations are also preparing for emerging federal standards. Our certification model is being designed to align with evolving U.S. government guidance, including ongoing efforts supported by the U.S. National AI Initiative Office, the AI Security Center (AISC), and the AI Center of Excellence. Our aim is to make responsible AI both achievable and clear.
